Spekit Successfully Completes SOC 2 Type II Audit

March 1, 2021

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our customer data secure and private, we are excited to announce that Spekit has successfully completed its SOC 2 Type 2 audit.

Our audit was performed in partnership with Dansa D’Arata Soucia LLP ( to evaluate our processes for systems, employees and security controls. This certification is another proof point that our team at Spekit takes safety and security very seriously when it comes to our customers’ data.

System and Organizational Controls (SOC) represent a set of control frameworks created by the AICPA which independent auditors use to certify an organization’s systems and policies with respect to security. SOC-certified organizations have been audited by independent certified public accountants who have determined that the firm has appropriate safeguards and protocols in place.

The SOC 2 Type II certification specifically consists of a careful examination of Spekit’s internal control policies and practices over a specified period of time. Achieving this certification is another milestone in our aggressive security and compliance mission that demonstrates that Spekit has:

  • A secure engineering development lifecycle
  • Access controls that follow industry standards and best practices
  • Detailed logging, monitoring and alerting

  • Completion of external penetration testing
  • Active monitoring for intrusion events and security incident handling
  • Data backup and disaster recovery

Additionally, Spekit is the only digital adoption platform (DAP) that is a Salesforce-certified vendor with metadata integration directly to Salesforce. Spekit passed Salesforce’s robust security review before achieving our listing on the AppExchange.

Spekit Wins Built In’s Top 100 Best Places to Work Award

Built In today announced that Spekit was honored in its 2021 Best Places to Work Awards. The annual awards include companies of all sizes, from startups to the enterprise, nationally and in the eight largest tech markets (including Colorado, which is where Spekit earned its title).

“We’re thrilled to be honored with this special award,” says Melanie Fellay, Spekit’s CEO. “Our strong commitment to remote culture, collaboration, diversity and inclusion helped solidify our placement as a high growth company that’s an equally great place to work.”

Built In determines winners for Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation, benefits and cultural programs. To reflect the attributes candidates are searching for on Built In today, this year’s program weighted criteria more heavily, like remote opportunities and programs for diversity, equity and inclusion.

“These companies raise the bar for cultural excellence and the ability to adapt to meet changing needs of employees,” says Sheridan Orr, Chief Marketing Officer, Built In. “The 2021 winners show a commitment not just to creating meaningful cultures but to delivering talent needs as they change in a dynamic landscape. We’re thrilled to extend our congratulations to the winners.”

Tech professionals rely on Built In’s Best Places to Work lists to discover employers that align with their preferences, passions and values. Since its inception three years ago, the award has expanded in reach, from online views of tens of thousands to just under 1 million views today.

Built In’s esteemed Best Places to Work awards, now in its third year, honor companies across numerous categories: 100 Best Places to Work, 50 Best Small Places to Work, 100 Best Midsize Places to Work, 50 Companies with the Best Benefits and 50 Best Paying Companies. Two new national categories reflect what candidates are searching for, including 100 Best Large Companies to Work For and 50 Best Remote-First Places to Work.

Built In ranks companies algorithmically based on compensation information, benefits and culture programs. This year, based on data showing tech professionals’ needs, the Best Places to Work algorithm added weight to companies’ commitment to DEI and remote culture. Rank is determined by combining a company’s score in each of these categories.

Spekit Ranks 6th Among Denver’s Best Places to Work

The Denver Business Journal’s annual workplace survey recognizes leadership in company culture, compensation, benefits and trust in leadership

Spekit, the leading digital adoption and enablement platform, was named one of the “Best Places to Work in Denver” in the annual employee-based survey from the Denver Business Journal.

The Spekit platform accelerates onboarding, self-sufficiency and remote productivity with in-app learning in any tool, helping employees learn their applications and navigate process changes by accessing answering and enablement resources in real-time everywhere they work.

Spekit’s unique technology integrates with applications like Salesforce, allowing companies to easily create training and documentation around existing processes and terminology. Users then see answers populate as embedded help in the applications they’re using, delivering guidance at the point of friction.

Leaders across teams like JLL, Mariner Wealth, DocSend and NorthMarq use the Spekit platform to drive adoption, boost productivity and reinforce learning in real-time, across teams.

The “Best Places to Work” list recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state, as judged by the people who know them best – their employees. The survey, conducted by Quantum Workplace, measures each company’s culture, from compensation and benefits to trust in leadership. The responses are then compiled, evaluated and ranked by Quantum based on their composite score. In its debut appearance this year, Spekit ranked #6 in the ”Small” business category.

“It’s been a tremendous year at Spekit. We’ve more than doubled in headcount and brought on some of the most gifted, passionate and high-performing individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” said Melanie Fellay, Spekit CEO and co-founder. “We’re proud to receive this recognition from the Denver Business Journal. It’s a testament to our continued focus on cultivating a safe, collaborative and people-first work environment.”

With a focus on diversity and inclusion, the team at Spekit is working to create a world where everyone has a sense of belonging. Commitments across the organization serve to elevate underrepresented minorities in technology through awareness, partnerships and scholarships to change the status quo.

“We know that diverse and inclusive companies drive innovative results. By furthering our efforts to diversify the workforce, we hope to be the change we seek by creating a culture where everyone thrives,” said Zari Zahra, Spekit Head of Product and Technology and co-founder.
